Perfection is a prison.
We are always in a state of Becoming.
The other day, I had a powerful session with a client who’s been struggling with stress eating—specifically sweets. (Sweets under stress? Been there, done that.)
But this session wasn’t just about the food. It was about the feeling underneath it. And by the end, she had crafted a new Food Power Statement that gave me chills:
“I cannot get my security from having something sweet.
I get my security from expending positive energy.”
That moment lit something up in both of us. It was more than just a breakthrough—it was a reframing of power.
And it got me thinking about the word B.A.B.E.
“Babe” is what my dad still calls me. (Yep, daddy’s girl forever.)
“Babe” is what flirty strangers used to whisper to get my attention.
And yes, I’m still a babe—just not in the way I used to think.
Because now, to me, B.A.B.E. means:
Becoming – always growing, learning, expanding…
In this journey called life.
Alignment is a choice.
Balance is a practice.
Energy is your gift to the world.
It’s not about doing more.
It’s not about pushing harder.
It’s about coming home to yourself.
Being a B.A.B.E. isn’t about perfection.
It’s about resting in the knowing that you are more than enough.
So the next time you find yourself reaching for something sweet when life feels bitter, pause and ask:
How do I feel?
(Usually, three emotions will bubble to the surface—one will be stronger than the other two.)
What do I need?
(The strongest emotion points to what you need most in this moment—sometimes practical like “I need a break,” or something deeper like “I need to let go.”)
Do I need support?
(Do you need support from others to meet this need? Sometimes yes, most of the time, no.)
This is the work.
This is the journey.
This is B.A.B.E. energy.
And you’re already on your way.
