In the email you received this morning, I mentioned some of the benefits you may or may not already know about starting your day off by eating a good breakfast.

Some of the benefits include:

  • Stable energy during the day
  • A boost in your metabolism
  • Better appetite control later in the day

Starting your day with a healthy breakfast can actually help you avoid overeating later in the day.  It’s easy to think that by skipping breakfast, you are ‘saving’ calories, but this is likely to cause you to consume even more calories during the day.

I know that we are all in a hurry, so time is an issue, especially in the morning.

A breakfast that will sustain you, and give you energy should include protein, fat, and carbs.  A bowl of non-fat cereal with non-fat milk will cause you to be hungry again a short time later (which often leads to consuming extra calories during the day).

One easy breakfast option is to mix up a quick protein smoothie (I like CTFO’s vanilla flavor) with ½ a frozen banana, 1 tsp ground  , 1/2 TBSP of natural peanut butter.  This is great when you’re in a hurry or on the go.
